Astrein!

Ein Wort gleichbedeutend mit "cool", "geil" oder "super". Astreine Party! Klingt doch astrein!

Doch woher kommt das eigentlich? Von "astral"? Nachschlag, nachschlag (i.e. tipp tipp tipp...)

Na sowas. Es kommt aus der Forstwirtschaft. Als "astrein" bezeichnet man Holz ohne Astlöcher. Forstwirte setzen Bäume in Monokulturen gern dicht nebeneinander, damit sie alle möglichst schnell und gedrängt empor schießen und erst weiter oben Äste ausbilden. Das bringt viel astreines Holz.

In 1985 rheinländisch artist Joseph Beuys created the "Capri-Batterie", a multiple in 200 copies. One of them can be seen at the K21 in Düsseldorf. He did a lot of works concerning energy and he used different materials, which in his terms were "energy-rich materials", like fat, honey or felt. But in this case he used a lemon as "source" of energy.

Now Hadley and Delaney are reproducing this in their little TV-kitchen and – who would have thought – it works! With a lemon, a zinc and a copper-pole, they can make a buzzer start of.
